Celebrate Christmas this year with these 12 small steps to a more mindful Christmas 🎄🎅🤶

A beautiful gesture to give back to those that are in need. Find a giving tree around your local area, or pop into a local op-shop to see if they take gift donations.

Get creative and make your own Christmas cards. A loving, personal way to write a meaningful message to a loved one.

Grab some paper, pens, and stickers- anything, and get creative.

This is a fun activity to do with family and friends, or by yourself! Create cardboard stars and colour them in, cut out felt shapes and try embroidery, or make an Orange and Clove Pomander Ball by getting a firm orange and stud it with whole cloves! Get creative!

How is this for an idea? Throw a Christmas party and instead of bringing Secret Santa gifts, bring gifts for charity! You and your friends will have a festive, fun evening and know that you will put a smile on the face of the person receiving the gift.

Don’t need that extra plastic bag? Us either! Remember to take re-useable bags when Christmas shopping and ditch the plastic, as most of the time it ends up getting thrown out!

Support and buy local. There are lots of local makers and creators that will be so happy and benefit from your support. You’ll know exactly where your money is going, and have a smile on your face for supporting a local business.

If you want to steer away from wrapping paper why not have a go at Furoshiki, Japanese wrapping that uses fabric as wrapping paper. There are so many great tutorials out there to teach you!

Or if you want to use wrapping paper, use tape sparingly and when people open their gifts save the wrapping paper for next year.

There is a great community of plant-based foodies out there to inspire you. Here are our favourites:

Reduce your meat and animal product intake by switching just one dish! There are so many delicious plant-based meal options to choose from!

Take some time for yourself this festive season, and reconnect with nature. Go for a walk, stop and just breathe.

There is always treasures to be found at op-shops! Maybe it’s just a cute skirt that you match with a store bought top, or better still maybe it’s a full outfit.

The festive season can be stressful, and overwhelming, so make sure to create some time for yourself. Treat yourself to a massage, manicure, a relaxing bath, or a walk in nature. Take some time to stop.
